Michael and I love this tree, so yesterday I snuck away from my desk and got a picture of it. Something I've always wanted to do is catch it at all it's different stages throughout the next year. It's amazing, it begins with only bare branches (no red or leaves) changes to all green (no red flowers) then to all red (no green leaves) and then to only branches again.
There was a student laying on the lawn under the tree, it was a nice day for it.
It's called a Erythrina, or "Coral Tree". I've never seen them on the East Coast, because they are quite tropical.
