Yesterday we went to our 10 week check up (10 weeks 4 days)...after some initial conversation, the Doctor pulled out the doppler radar machine to listen for the heartbeat. At first, nothing.... and I was praying so hard that God would afford us this special gift. Then, right as I was asking, "when we hear it, will we know?" this quick and strong little palpatation became audible and filled the room. That was a sacred moment indeed. She left in on there for a few moments as if to allow us to savor the connection and then, it was gone. It could've listened to it all day long. Doc words were "That's about 165 beats per minute, a very strong heartbeat. Looks like this one is going to stick around." Nothing can put the mind of a new mom and dad- to -be at ease quicker than that. Another gift for another day. One day closer to meeting our little baby- affectionately called by Michael "Junior Bird".
